There are 4 states of matter. Solid, liquid, gas, and plasma. A solid is a lot of little particles close together. You cannot change its shape. A liquid is particles that stay together, but take the shape of its container. A gas is atoms that move a lot every time you move. Gas does take the shape of its container. However, if you trap a gas the minute you open the container all of the gas will go out. It is very hard to trap gas.
